We have to ask at how much per share would the offer have to be to attract enough sellers so as the buyer gains control. If that pps is too far above the market at the time they consider making the offer, the offer would not be forthcoming. Any acquisition attempt will ultimately be made at, or near, a premium of, say, 20% over the then current market price. Right now, an offer such as that would be rejected by the BOD don't you think?
The point is that any offer made will be a reflection of the current trading value of our company. If you are in this with hopes that big soda is going to come in and pay $$ per share and make us all rich, then I would say that is just wrong thinking....at least in the near to mid term.
