Golden cross only .0031 away? Actually..the EMA go
Post# of 1023
You may be thinking, "Joey68..what the doo da are you talking about!? The 50 and 200MA lines are .0031 away! Theres no Golden cross tomorrow!"
I've known about this possible crossover for quite some time but I wanted to hold off until I knew it was highly likely to occur. I'm sure many of you have read my 'Progress' posts outlining how the 50 and 200MA lines have been creeping closer and closer together. But... there's much more to the story than just those two lines.
You see, standard charts use two MA lines. The 50 and 200. I use three; 50, 100, and 200 (it helps show momentum better).
BUT!..those standard MA lines are 'SIMPLE moving averages' (SMA). Although SMA lines (MA for short) are relatively useful, there is something called 'EXPONENTIAL moving averages' which can be even better.
Many investors use 50 and 200 MA lines, but if you ask them 'why', they might not be able to answer. On the sidelines, I have been watching the EMA lines as well, and they are just about to cross. Both are at .0035 as of this post.
You may be asking, "EMA???? SMA???? MA?? Joey68.. what the heck; you lost your marbles?"
Probably. But I do know EMA lines are more accurate (in my opinion). I wont go too much in detail about it because a quick google search will reveal all mysteries, but in short.. I use the following two EMA lines:
slow EMA line: 48.5
fast EMA line: 13
The next time youre on your charts, plug in these two EMA numbers and see what happens.
Here's an image of the EMA lines. Notice they are just about to cross:

Think I'm making this stuff up? Nope..

Google "13 and 48.5" and see how powerful these MA lines are compared to the 50 and 200MA lines.
So from now on, I am graduating my posts to using the EMA lines of 13 and 48.5. Why? Because I believe something is going to occur soon regarding increased progress and the 50/200MA lines wont be as reliable for me. When I say, 'something is going to occur' I realize this an opinion and sounds silly. But its what my DD has led me to believe.
Why do I want to switch to EMA lines now?
Quote:
Exponential moving averages (EMAs), which weigh most recent prices heavier than earlier prices , perform better overall than SMAs, which weight all prices in the timeframe equally.
This is my investing strategy. Find your own strategy and do not invest based on this or any post. I could be completely wrong. Will the cross over happen tomorrow? I think it may. If not, possibly by the end of the week.
Why is this crossover important? Any serious investor using scanner software tracking EMA crossovers will be made aware of SCIE immediately after the crossover. This may bring new eyes and new money to Spectrascience. EMA crossovers are often regarded as long term bull runs forming. Crossovers don't instantly spew rainbows and unicorns, but it may be the beginning of something good.
