It's a bit of oversimplification and somewhat myopic to say why won't someone just give AMBS some money...
Market conditions do play a part and no one saw the Bio sector getting eviscerated like it did. (Ok, I'm sure someone will say, I did, but not my point...)
Also, AMBS' model way way too confusing and difficult to follow!!! What BP was going to put money on ALZ IUO testing when they had not an ounce of interest in ELTOP PD or growing Skin!?
It was all under one house. "Now" it is separated and the DX had can test in house with its own test. Far easier to look at and follow. But, the Lab and the DX' s may get split off down the road too...
For a Big BP to begin trials, any trial, and have the company whose product they are using go under destroys their entire trial. Forget about how much they would lose in the trial, setting up and testing, think about what Shareholders and Shorts would do to that company if they had to suspend or cancel a trial. That would be catastrophic for that BP! And cost Hundreds of millions if not Billions in a matter of minutes.
Now they are looking to go RegenMed or Neuro. I imagine, they have been told, you need to focus on not just distressed assets that you can help bring to market, you need to focus on an area so investors can be spoon fed. We are a "this" company. Fine tune the pitch. Make it far more digestible to understand and therefore follow. I want to know where my money is going....

This is not to say any of the products are failures or worthless or fools gold. Or they never had any interest in any of their products from anyone. Now that they will be in their proper places and housed with like products, I see these all getting to where they need to be and will be.
