The RS is now 1:100. I totally understand that many investors are feeling annoyed (or worse) over this news. Unfortunately, this is how investing works. Although investors are needed, the ultimate goal is for the good of the company. Although this is stricktly opinion, please remember that if you own 100 million shares of SGLB (it would have cost $6 million so I doubt anyone has this many), you will only have one million shares post RS. Yes, SGLB is doing a buyback of shares but in the long run, for the average, hard working family man and woman, I don't see the buyback as doing much good; except for PRs sake. So, if you own 500,000 shares, youll end up with 5,000 shares tomorrow. Yes, they will be worth the same, but if your intention was to make a sizable profit, you will lose a great deal of potential.
Before RS
500,000 shares @ .06 = $30,000
After RS
1. 500,000 shares reduced to 5,000 shares
2. Share price increased to $6 (.06 x 100) = $30,000
Your shares are worth the same, but even if (post RS) the share price reaches $8, your 500,000 shares were reduced to 5,000, so your shares would be worth $40,000 (only $10,000 more than your initial investment).
I'm not saying to sell your shares. This is all opinion. I'm extremely disappointed as an investor because I was just about to open a new position in SGLB prior to hearing about the RS. But as life has it, it will cost too much for me to gain enough shares to make a decent profit now.
This is why I constantly say it is better to be invested in 10 companies with 1 million shares than 1 company with 10 million shares. This setback with SGLB wont affect me because I am currently invested in other great companies. Never put all your eggs in one basket.
