Componenta Orhangazi in Turkey has received the Bronze Level SQEP (Supplier Quality Excellence Process) certification from Caterpillar. SQEP is Caterpillar’s system for monitoring and ensuring the high quality of its suppliers and gives a certified company a preferred supplier status.
Caterpillar’s SQEP certification recognizes their supplier’s dedication to providing superior quality and is only awarded to those who demonstrate such consistent world-class performance on a 12 month rolling basis. Each year, suppliers are evaluated with increasingly strict criteria for distinguishing outstanding supplier quality performance, exceptional service, capacity planning, and delivery performance.
"Achieving the Bronze SQEP status for many complex machined castings towards the global facility network of Caterpillar constitutes a major achievement, because the supplier, in this case both our Orhangazi foundry and Orhangazi machine shop must meet strict requirements in several categories, including product quality, process management, manufacturing, logistics, delivery and customer service, just to name a few,” says Ömer Lütfi Erten, Vice President, Customer Relations & Quality.
“We are proud of achieving this valuable award from Caterpillar as this certificate acknowledges our strongly improved quality management. We experience the certificate as an additional motivation to constantly strive to meet the growing demands of our customers,” continues Paul Stelten, Sales Director for the Caterpillar Business team.
Also Componenta Främmestad machine shop in Sweden has been awarded by the Caterpillar SQEP certificate since 2013, first by a bronze level and later a silver level certificate.
