No, it does not relate to GS. The amount of SEC whistleblower awards are 10%-30% of the "fine" paid by the miscreant. Thus, this whistleblowers info resulted in a fine of $2.3M to $7M.
If a whistleblower was involved in GS's fine of $15M, the award could be from $1.5M - $4.5M. Sorta makes a retired guy think about looking into this as a possible new source of retirement income. Hmmm!
