I think they went with the lower dose because of the side effect issue. Even if their stuff is relatively safe, when you're dealing with an intravenous drug, which could easily have systemic effects, the last thing you'd want to do is take a chance on an already very sick person having a bad reaction to something. The less, the better.
Brilacidin-OM being an oral rinse has the gigantic advantage of NOT being systemic. There's no way that a little Bril isn't going to get swallowed -- just no way to avoid that with a mouthwash -- but it isn't like having it circulate throughout your body with an intravenous solution. Imagine if you had an allergic reaction to the SGNX drug, and it was going through your entire circulatory system?
