VALENCIA, CA --(Marketwired - December 01, 2015) - PDC Healthcare, a global leader in healthcare identification solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a three-year group purchasing contract with Premier, Inc., a healthcare improvement company uniting an alliance of approximately 3,600 U.S. hospitals and 120,000 other healthcare sites. Effective February 1, 2016, the national contract includes PDC Healthcare's comprehensive portfolio of identification solutions.
Additionally, PDC Healthcare was also awarded an agreement for Premier's ASCEND® (Accelerated Supply Chain Endeavor) collaborative for the same product category. ASCEND identifies and implements supply chain performance opportunities for participating facilities.
The contracts offer Premier members access to PDC Healthcare's laser and thermal bar code, patient ID wristbands, traditional patient ID wristbands, and specialty labels -- including system labels, chart labels, pre-printed labels, skin markers, and visitor identification solutions. Used at critical points in the delivery of care, PDC Healthcare's products help organizations reduce medical errors, improve patient safety, and adopt best practices to maintain compliance with important patient safety goals, guidelines and regulations established by The Joint Commission, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the American Hospital Association (AHA).
