Scorpio Bulkers Inc. Announces Agreement to Sell Six Vessels for $227 Million

MONACO--(Marketwired - Nov 25, 2015) - Scorpio Bulkers Inc. ( NYSE : SALT ) (the "Company") announced today that the Company has entered into agreements with unaffiliated third parties to sell two Capesize dry bulk vessels and four newbuilding Capesize dry bulk vessels under construction for approximately $227 million.

Two of the Capesize vessels were constructed in China and delivered to the Company in 2015. Of the remaining vessels currently under construction, one is under construction in China and expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2015 and the other three are under construction in Korea and are expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2016.

Scorpio Bulkers Inc. currently owns 28 vessels, consisting of three Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax vessels and 15 Ultramax vessels with an average age of 0.4 years. The Company also time charters-in ten dry bulk vessels (consisting of one Handymax, one Ultramax, three Supramax, one Panamax, two Kamsarmax and two Post-Panamax vessels) and has contracted for 26 dry bulk vessels consisting of 13 Ultramax, 11 Kamsarmax and two Capesize vessels, from shipyards in Japan, South Korea and China. Upon final delivery of all of the vessels, the owned fleet is expected to have a total carrying capacity of approximately 4.4 million deadweight tonnes.
