There’s an exciting little rumble coming from Timmins Porcupine West. I’m hearing Teck has completed drilling their first hole. Apparently, they drilled to an approximate depth of 800 meters. My understanding is that not only are they starting a second deeper hole today, another drill rig is heading for TPW to accelerate the program. Initially, it appeared Teck was going to be very conservative, and limit their initial efforts to some 3000 total meters of strategic drilling around the site.
The TerraSpec analysis being performed on the first core must be pretty impressive, as they have upped their program to a probable plus or minus 5000 meters. Relatively speaking, 5000 meters can not be viewed as an ‘extensive’ program, but considering they have a full crew out there, some sort of positive consensus must have occurred for them to take the additional action, and incur the additional costs.
Those of us that have followed Explor are keenly aware of previous results at the site, and are hopeful Teck will produce some equally impressive numbers as they continue their work.. This ‘preliminary’ drilling by Teck is, without doubt, the single most important development in the last two or three years for Explor shareholders in an otherwise very tough ‘mining’ market.
With great optimism for a very profitable future, I continue to add to my position….
