Agreed. IT also depends on wind direction. The aircraft always lands with headwind to maintain lift as it lands, so knowing the fire is behind you, and knowing that the wind will blow the smoke behind you, it's best to exit in the front of the aircraft, to avoid danger. NSTB will see no fault in this.
