My interpretation when I first saw it was that, basically, those trading the security, determine the price. (i.e., the market determines the price).. If you value it at $50, but someone will only pay $10, then it is worth $10..
GC may think it's worth $100, but if those trading the security ( the shareholders) will only pay $5, then..it is worth $5.
Ergo, the shareholders determine the price, not GC.
It was, unfortunately, a slow ball across the plate for those wanting to twist it to their advantage. (Again, and again, and again..)
