There are numerous message boards on everything from Disney to electronics. People often post for no reason other than they are interested in a topic. Not one of my Facebook friends posts pictures of cats because of a financial incentive...although I acknowledge that there do seem to be way too many pictures of cats posted--maybe there is some ulterior motive going on.
Regarding the investors you mentioned who sold their stock and whom you feel should move on because they should no longer be interested, I could turn it around and ask why you feel those posters are "worth discussing." Do you have a financial interest in their psychology??
You're interested in the psychology of why non-shareholders would post but you can't put your finger on why anyone without shares, even any former investor who might have lost a boatload of money and then sold, might be interested in posting about PTOI?!
