Friends, Today, MassRoots won the popular vote
Post# of 593
Today, MassRoots won the popular vote at TechCrunch Disrupt by an overwhelming margin; however, TechCrunch's editorial team decided to use their editorial discretion to prevent MassRoots from competing in the Startup Battlefield.
This is not only an injustice against MassRoots, but against the entire cannabis community. All of your hard work, all that we've accomplished, was deemed by TechCrunch's head editor, Mike Butcher, to be insignificant actions of a bunch of potheads. Rarely have I felt as insulted as I did during my conversation with Mr. Butcher this afternoon.
Like all cannabis-related companies, MassRoots faces discrimination on a daily basis. We've had our bank accounts shut down, investors slam the door in our face and had to battle Apple just to let MassRoots into the App Store.
The point of TechCrunch Disrupt is to discover the companies who are pushing boundaries, creating new markets and, ultimately, changing the world.
As disappointed as I am in TechCrunch and its editorial team, MassRoots will continue to do
what it does best: connecting and empowering the cannabis community to affect real-world change.
Respectfully,
Isaac
