Most millionaires live rather simple lives and don't own mansions or yachts. In fact, unless you are a part of the extreme rich, you most likely are squandering your money on such fleeting and trivial things.
Most millionaires actually have most of their money comtinuing to work for them in bonds, stocks, real estate, businesses, and other investments.
Only kids think that what they see on MTV is how rich people live.
Don't believe me, let me start you off researching again by pointing you to a good book full of statistics about millionaires. You may be surprised by what you learn. It's called, "the millionaire next store". It's well worth the price on Amazon.
I happen to drive a 10 yr old Jeep Grand Cherokee that I bought new. 8cyl, 4wd, and only the basic E package.
Why would I need anything more?
See, those who know me, know i rarely spend money. I concentrate more on enjoying life. I give to charity more than you probably make each year, even though I drive a 10 yr old jeep. I spend time with friends instead of people trying to sell me things. I drink expensive whiskey, at home with friends, because it tastes good and by not going to bars I probably spend less than you on alcohol.
One friend bought me a $3000 bottle of Scotch last year, after he made a bundle on my research. Picture of it is on my twitter stream, may have to scroll down as that was awhile ago.
When some offered to pay for my research or send me some type of thank you, i asked them to instead give to Wounded Warriors... And they did! I got the notifications of donations in my name.
Your immediate assumption about who and what I am is another example of your lack of basic understanding of money, people, and the markets.
Have a nice kid! But try to spend more time on educating yourself and relying on others research. One day it will pay off vs your current approach.
Oh, and buy that book! Or better yet go to the library and borrow a copy for free. That's how you get rich! By not spending.
