outside of my monetary interest, I certainly hope a company cannot patent absolute and comprehensive rights to a natural thing. That would be like the first guy discovering oil in the ground (ridiculous premise, I know) being owed a royalty by every petrochemical company, and everyone who produces anything that contains plastic etc. Except it's even worse because they just patented something inside of me.
