Re: zoomboom #17020
Zoom: Thanks for providing the link to the report of Saarma's research. I believe it was from April of 2014. It is above my pay grade to analyze this paper and interpret Saarma's views on "recombinant MANF injections." I'll have my son digest this later today and I'll report back by tomorrow.

Back in June of 2014 "recombinant MANF injections" was Dr. Urano's main focus. But for whatever reasons by Sept of 2014 Dr. Urano said he prefers "small molecules" over "recombinant MANF injections" for a variety of "scientific reasons"......"for the moment." His most recent statement in February of 2015 suggests he is still focusing on "small molecules."

Objective scientists' job is explore and research all reasonable possibilities. We'll see which method of utilizing MANF Dr. Urano ultimately chooses. Obviously, he'll be using our recombinant MANF to heal damage to the eye caused by wolframs/diabetes, but it remains in doubt as to which method he'll elect to treat wolframs/diabetes themselves. That's the Mother Lode!! I think it's too early to assume recombinant MANF is a shoe in to cure diabetes, as Watson suggested yesterday on Yahoo. That is how this thread came up again. He suggested a deal could happen within the next month on MANF/Diabetes. I was shooting that down, not because I'm a flipper, but because I prefer to base my optimism for AMBS on credible hopes, rather than bogus ones.
