Quote:I believe the doctors you spoke with are missing the point. One of the key reasons that LymPro is highly sought after in the AD research community is because of the high number of AD patients misdiagnosed by doctors. I'm not a doctor, but it seems clear to me that while doctors might feel their own AD diagnoses are accurate, the evidence from big pharma AD trials indicate otherwise. Did your questions to the doctors include this discussion, or were their responses based solely on the sensitivity/specificity values?
...however those that I spoke with said they would not be recommending this type of test with that degree of a flaw.
We still don't know the sensitivity/specificity for multivariate analysis test, which would likely be the test used in the product marketed to doctors, and by the very nature of multivariate analysis using several biomarkers, would likely improve accuracy. I feel reaching any conclusion based on the univariate analysis figures is premature, even with an informal poll of physicians, because that's not likely going to be the test they will use. Still, thanks for the effort.
