In fairness, I think the unquestioning support shown by the remaining PTOI fans on the message boards represents the views of a small handful of people. The relentless 99% fall in share price over the past few years proves that the majority stopped believing in Bordynuik's fraudulent claims.
Nearly everyone who invested in PTOI acknowledges that they did so because of Bordynuik's fraudulent claims about having found a magic catalyst that allowed him to make $10/bbl oil.
The remaining few who claim to be honored by having been defrauded by Bordynuik, even as he sold his own stock while convincing them to baghold, and who celebrate their +90% losses each day, seem to fall within three categories:
1) The genuinely confused bagholders who don't know where to direct their anger and frustration. For some reason, they believe that claiming to buy more PTOI every day at ever lower prices is a way to get back at those of us who have been calling this a scam from the start. They don't realize that most of us would be delighted if they were as heavily invested as they claim, but we realize that is unlikely, since they are probably as dishonest in what they tell others as they are dishonest with themselves.
2) The serial Naked Shorter Conspiracy clan, who has been dogging crappy scams for the last decade. For them, PTOI is just another one in a long string of failed companies they've "documented". They simply ignore all facts inconsistent with their delusional theories about global conspiracies out to get their shitty stock-picks. For years after PTOI is dead and gone, they'll still be claiming it's all "smoke and mirrors".
3) Bordynuik's seething "toady aliases", who either belong to Bordynuik himself, or to one of his surrogates. Their purpose seems to be to do some kind of damage-control with regards to Bordynuik's reputation of being a fraudster who wiped out hundreds of people with his scam. They seem completely unaware that they just make things worse, by coming across as angry sleazy creeps who are in on the scam, keeping Bordynuik's responsibility for the scam alive and fresh on the internet. Go figure.
