That's exactly it. Originally the catalyst was supposed to be what gave PTOI the 'unfair advantage' over all the other people trying to make pyrolysis commercially viable, over the decades of failed pyrolysis attempts which came and went before. PTOI's catalyst supposedly could be sprinkled into plastic being pyrolyzed and that was supposed to make it wildly profitable.
Since then the story has morphed and now the 'unfair advantage' is supposed to be Mr. Bordynuik's ability to tinkerfark. Mr. Bordynuik prides himself on his lack of education and experience as he feels that allows his mind to work freely and investigate possibilities which those with more experience and education would consider impossible. Investors don't seem to question anything Mr. Bordynuik says.
The catalyst isn't mentioned in filings anymore. Nobody seems to notice.
