Some here have called repeatedly for Gerald to be replaced as CEO, with an older, more "experienced" biotech CEO taking his place. How many other biotech CEOs have any experience in the kind of business model being employed here? Gerald is breaking new ground here, and as such he is expected to make some mistakes.
I would have big concerns if Gerald was replaced, just because some investors are focusing on his mistakes and not on the awesome team he's assembled and how they are systematically moving their assets forward toward commercialization.
And no one can claim he hasn't done an extraordinary job at keeping investors informed about the direction the company is headed. Much of the dissatisfaction some investors have are the result of unrealistic expectations generated in their discussions or misinterpretations of what Gerald has stated... partnering taken to mean JV partner with a large up-front payment, etc.
