If the early JV discussions were not as expected (lowball offers, BP trying to bully our little company), there would be justifiable reasons to alter the strategy. Some here want the JV partnership with up-front money at any cost, in their desire to become instantly wealthy. That's not a concern for the company, and rightly so.
At this point, I have NO expectations of a JV partnership with up-front money. I'm certainly not going to blast management for changing direction for better long-term value since I am not privy to what feeds their decisions. It's too easy to point the finger and assign blame as an investor, but we do so with limited and incomplete information, and many of the shareholder assumptions are clearly flawed as a result.
I read the press releases, I read the filings, I read the blog posts, and I listen to Gerald speak at every opportunity. I also send my concerns to the company, where they are usually answered to my satisfaction. What I don't do is overanalyze and pick apart every word of every sentence in some desperate attempt to figure out what the company's next move is going to be, or to create doubts among other shareholders and justify it as a valid shareholder concern. My concerns go to those who can actually provide answers, not speculation.
I suppose for those who have burned their bridges with the company are left with only the option of sharing their concerns here, even if no one else agrees it is a concern.
