"I checked the oil this morning, and it's all dark and yucky. It was nice and clear when I had it changed 3 months ago. Also, I noticed a drop of oil below the oil filter... not a leak, just a drop... but these combined are clear indications that something is wrong with my car."
Service manager:
"Please relax, sir. Everything you describe is normal."
Car owner:
"Relax? Who are you to suggest I relax? I'm an intellect and capable of critical thought. I'm entitled to my opinion and I'm voicing a valid concern as an owner. I think I'll get on the carmaker's website and voice my valid concerns 14,000 times in the forum to warn others of this issue. Something needs to be done about it. This could be a major problem with this model."
Service manager (quietly whispering to his service technician):
"Joe, we've got an idiot here who doesn't understand the first thing about cars. I'm sure you can find some other things that need replacing during his oil change. I suggest you look at his coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and windshield wiper fluid. There's bound to be problems with those as well. Also check the tire pressure. We can probably sell this moron the $20 per tire Nitrogen fill service after we find his tire pressure is low. And if he bites on the Nitrogen fill, drop the hint that his halogen headlight fluid is running low, and mention the special we're running on headlight fluid replacement."
Service technician:
"Will do, boss. Thanks for the heads up."
