The thing with using small molecules to elicit an endogenous release of MANF is the other effects of the mystery "drug" on the body. With injection of exogenous MANF, which has been tested to have a stable toxicity profile, you get just that.. MANF ! I have no doubt in my mind that MANF will be administered as a treatment all by itself in the future!
