I agree money runners had a lot to do with it. But

Pennies may not matter to you, but they certainely do for me. I'm a very small fry investor. Being fresh out of college and paying for two degrees does not yield a lot of spare change for AMBS shares. That penny difference easily turns into thousands of dollars difference in the long haul. My total share count is a hair under 100k. I would kill to have even a quarter of the shares some of our fellow investors have.
I'm simply trying to get as many AMBS shares as possible. Don't get me confused with flippers just because I care about a couple pennies. When I am able to buy some shares, it's usually only about $1,000-$1,500 at a time. If you're buying .5M at this level, it ballparks at $42,000. I can see for you how pennies may not matter.
Not all penny pinchers are flippers.
