Pork I have looked hard and long into that. Because the end use was for Agricultural Storage not he building permit (not application) issued to Jim Shaaban, he was entitled to put up a fence and pole barn under building regulations, not zoning regulations, two different things. Therein lies the problem. Until the company submitted their intent to seek a license from Health Canada, was the first official submission of documents to the town. The building permits were in order, that is all. Again, go and pull the permits like I did. It says Agricultural Storage. Nothing else. That can mean anything, including medical mj. Since Bill was all over the media stating what their intent was, including the worlds under end use instead of agricultural storage, he should have put Medical MJ Facility since it was no secret and no law would have been broken. The town then might have become involved (last October) but no indication of anything but storage on the permit. Remember, the permits are simply filed, not reviewed by council. They go to Mary, the Morris at the town who then arrange for town inspectors to approve each step of the building before the next step in the process is approved. Bill made much noise about town inspectors approving this along the way - well, that is there job. We will not allow the steel to be erected until we inspect the concrete footings that will anchor them. That is normal for any project but it came across as the town was actively involved in this medical mj facility when no application for one was submitted at that time.
Bill Cenergy, or someone using that name on Facebook said prettying the grounds up was not going to happen because of security and we cannot give the bad guys anyplace to hide on the grounds. That was after the first July 15 meeting. Defeats the purpose of securities if you give them a means to hide from them on the grounds.
