Today's PR specifically stated that the data would be univariate data. This was the piece that was misunderstood last time when numbers in the 70s and 80s, which are good, we're viewed as disappointing. People should not be looking for numbers in the 90s or they will likely be let down again. Improvement over the previous data we were presented with is what's most important. I believe we will see that.
In my opinion, the data is important, but may not do much for the share price (unless it's just off the charts great). The data's importance is how it appeals to BP who are looking to partner. They are the ones that will need to be impressed. The dopes on I hub, ymb, and twitter won't understand the context of the data and will claim it's bad even if it's good. Only a partnership (or data that's so good it cannot be misinterpreted) will shut up the naysayers. Prepare for another "battle of misinformed data interpretation."
