I called as a prospective buyer in the Lake Bayano area and asked to speak with someone who was knowledgeable in the area surrounding Lake Bayano. It took a few minutes--finally a woman named Isabel--very nice--came on the line and introduced herself. She mentioned she frequents the area in and around Lake Bayano and has been there twice in the past year. She had recently sold a house to an American couple (in June) about 35 miles from Lake Bayano. We had about an hour long conversation, in which I told her I was concerned about being around heavy machinery operations and had heard that there was currently logging being done around Lake Bayano. She mentioned she had heard of some timber operations, and saw that there was a newly constructed road that she had not seen before, but that in her most recent visit (June) the road and area surrounding the road was abandoned. She mentioned the only things she currently knows of happening around Lake Bayano is fishing and clean water experiments being conducted.
I asked if she would be able to verify and said that she would be back around that area in early October, and would find out more.
I will keep everyone posted.
