ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire -08/07/12)- Advanced Defense Technologies, Inc. ( ADCF ) announced today that the Company and its joint venture partner Halberd Corporation ( HALB ), a manufacturer of both short- and long-range Unmanned Aircraft, have been focusing on completing sales contracts for Sense & Avoid enabled UAVs and drones.
ADTI and Halberd expect large-scale proliferation of drones and UAV use to be contingent upon adequate sense, detect, and avoidance capabilities that would prevent collisions with structures and other aircrafts. ADTI, Halberd and its partners are working to harness unprecedented intelligence; surveillance, reconnaissance, and communication systems to incorporate sense and avoid capabilities taking drone and UAV technology to a commercially viable level.
R.S. Tahim, President and CEO of Advanced Defense Technologies, Inc., stated, "The commercial and civil UAV and drone market will take lead with government organizations requiring surveillance systems similar to military UAVs such as the coast guard, border patrol and other national security organizations. Our sense and avoid enabled systems could be the key component in overcoming the current airspace restrictions holding back commercial growth. When these public safety obstacles, export rules and FAA restrictions are overcome the possibilities for the sales growth of safe reliable UAV and drones will be exponential."
