Avis Budget Group Lands Exclusive Partnership With Seaborne Airlines

PARSIPPANY, N.J., Aug. 18, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Avis Budget Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: CAR ) and Seaborne Airlines, one of the fastest-growing airlines in the Caribbean, have signed an exclusive, multi-year partnership agreement.

Under the new agreement, Seaborne Airlines customers will have convenient access to vehicles from Avis Car Rental, Budget Car Rental and Payless Car Rental. Business and leisure travelers visiting the Seaborne Airlines website will have the ability to make an Avis, Budget or Payless reservation as a stand-alone car rental booking or by adding a vehicle rental to an existing flight booking.

"This partnership is a strategic opportunity for us to accelerate growth throughout the Caribbean," said Stephen Wright, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Latin America/Asia-Pacific, Avis Budget Group. "Seaborne Airlines has been operating in the Caribbean for more than 20 years and is well-respected throughout the region. We're happy to land this new partnership and offer Seaborne Airlines customers an extended multi-brand transportation solution."

In the Caribbean, most Avis, Budget and Payless locations are operated by independently-owned licensees who are experts in serving travelers from the area and abroad. Each country offers a variety of vehicle makes and models, so travelers can enjoy the island experience in the car that best suits their needs.

"We are delighted to be entering into this agreement with a marquee firm like Avis Budget Group," said Gary Foss, president and chief executive officer of Seaborne. "Together, we will be able to offer even more value to Caribbean travelers, whether they are traveling locally or connecting for business or leisure."
