Yes, I understand what you are saying. Although it is possible that companies will throw away money on a nice idea that is good for the environment, it is not likely. In fact, I would term it a pipedream, and it is only because I have been involved in these internal decisions that I say that. It is a question of the best use of a limited resource (Capital Money).
At the most advanced company I worked at, they had 7 different types of projects... all for various reasons. And they were not all based on ROI performance.
But, the money has to come from somewhere... if it is just to make an environmental statement or for PR purposes, that budget will be in the low 6 figures...
The only scenario is that there is some business need where Plastic to Owe is the only possible solution... however, there always will be cheaper solutions to the plastic waste disposal problem.
Millions of dollars is a pipedream for Plastic to Owe.
