People do not buy shorted shares. They buy shares. Those who are short keep the number of shares in their account. They show up if they are forced to cover. The shorter must cover and buy back shares at market. That's when they show up.

LIsten careully Joe. I buy shares of Televelu from someone who sells short. I todn't know that I bought shorted sases. O can't tell the difference, so I will vote my shares not knowing ther're shorted shares. Get it?

You don't buy shares from someone who is short. You buy shares from a market maker. He sells you shares. Not someone.
There are 55,000 shares in the float at TelVue. There can legally be 55,000 shares short but the short account does not vote. Only the shares in a long account vote.
Those who are short don't own shares. They own markers and promise to buy those shares back later at market. That's why it can sometimes be costly to short.

So who buys from those selling shares short? Someone must givbe them the price of those shares. Otherwise why sell short if you don't get paid?

And what do those who bought those shares do with them when they want to sell?

Looks to me like you don't understand how shorting works.

I will agree that one of us does not know how shorting works.

The person who opens a short account with a broker is saying he feels the market price will go down. If and when the market price goes down he buys back shares he owes at the lower price and pockets the difference. That's how shorts are paid.

Now Tavy is getting into it. If they delete these they are here for a laugh.

Thank you for your support.
