"DRAGONITE INT'L (00329.HK) announced, with reference to the company in discussion with major international tobacco companies for the possible disposal of the group’s Ruyan electronic cigarettes business, that it is also in discussion to engage a major international investment bank for the aforesaid possible disposal.
However, no agreement has been entered into.
Save for the above, the company is not aware of any reasons behind the recent increase in stock price. The company's stock closed early session up 8.79% at $0.099"
Ruyan is the only ecig business in the world which has patents besides SFIO. Ruyan tech has the only two USA patents for atomization technology . Blu Cigs was bought out by Lorillard back in May of this year for about $135M. Blu Cigs did not have any patents. Dragonite (DGTLF) had sued Blu Cigs on patent infringement and they were in the process of settling the lawsuit with a rather large lump sum payment to DGTLF and then Blu Cigs got bought out so Lorillard now owes DGTLF. There are quite a few US patent applications out there by various ecig companies and still many more trademark and service mark applications and trademarkia business pages, however as far as real patents go, DGTLF has the only USA patents and SFIO has a European patent for their unique vaporless technology. Most if not all of the generic ecig brands out in the market right now are in violation of US patent law and infringing on the "410" Ruyan patent. It is just a matter of time IMO before Dragonite Ruyan gets around to finding all of the little companies infringing on their patents and sues them for either lump sum payments or else some sort of regular payments based on sales. Even VPCO is getting sued by DGTLF now. I think Philip Morris and Lorillard, etc, will all be looking to snap up the wayward ecig companies and consolidate the industry. The first step though is probably to acquire the US patent owner, DGTLF, and then go after all the small fish fry. They already snapped up Blu Cigs which was the largest ecig company by sales.
More speculation and rumors are flying about Philip Morris and RFMK, though it's just a prediction by a model turned Nostradamus. No one knows the future, but its still rather amusing.
