Personally I don't believe there are any problems with scaling up. Many others have tried pyrolysis and few had any problems with scaling it up. In fact if that were the case, JBI could have just replicated the 20-ton Donghe processor. That processor cost $80,000 and was supposedly producing 109bbl/day of crude oil for under $10/bbl for which Mr. Bordynuik said Somerset had an offer in for WTI-$3/bbl. That would have paid for itself in about a week.
Even if the 1-ton version worked to make oil for under $10/bbl which could be sold for $WTI-$3, that would also be a home run. The problem is that the $10/bbl claim and the WTI-$3 offer also needs to be true.
