God bless all those who sacrificed their lives for

I took the time today to once again work in the garden.- Turning over the soil, planting and replanting vegetable seeds, and then.watering. I turned over the garden by hand using a shovel rather than a tiller. Closer to nature and can take a personal interest removing rocks, stones, and other weird items that you would not be able to do as efficiently. Also I get personally excited seeing the worms and smelling the wonderful aroma of dirt and listening to the birds chirping their little hearts out..All of which would not take place if I used a NOISY tiller. I first turned it over and planted at the end of April. Some seeds took and others did not like my Corn and Beans. This is the 4th time for replanting them. The soil may have been too cool. I have also planted Pumpkin, Cantaloupe, Cucumber, Watermelon, Carrots, Lettuce, Radish, Spinach and I am sure Tomatoes will come up from the rotten tomatoes from the end of last year and scraps of tomatoes from the winter thrown in the garden. To water I use rain water from the many plastic containers I have sitting outside on the patio. When that runs out I fill the containers with water from the hose and let it sit for 24- 36 hours to allow the chlorine to evaporate before using a sprinkling can to water the vegetables. Yes time consuming but very effective and hopefully much better tasting and healthy vegetables as well as better soil.
