I'm long and strong on EWSI but certainly not because of today's news. It sounded good at first reading but after I parsed it a bit it started to sound like corporate-speak, mumbo-jumbo. When was the last time a "committee" accomplished anything? The kind of oversight and control over the areas mentioned that Martin seeks is easy to implement, and there's only one true way in an organization. You hire one expert in this field and give him/her the power to kick-ass when he/she sees something wrong or not done correctly. Like in the automotive industry that learned to put in someone who has the power to shut down the assembly line when something wrong is detected. No nonsense, full authority! Committee? No frickin way. Just an empty smoke screen to look better, IMO. Rather disappointing to me.
