...and there are entities whose sole goal is to sing praises about the company.
So the best you can do with your DD is use common sense. As in, it's more valuable to have the company provide evidence that the process is commercially viable than to accept commercial viability because skeptics without access to any of it haven't been able to 'prove' otherwise.
You could ask the company what obstacles still stand in the way of profitable production of fuel of any processor at near capacity. That takes only a simple e-mail to IR or Mr. Bordynuik and would be wonderful DD.
