Completely off topic:  Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah had a "fanatical" type personality (how many people do you know who have a flight simulator at home?).  Unfortunately, he was also fanatically involved with political opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, who had recently been unfairly arrested for sodomy.  Homosexuality is illegal in Malaysia.

On March 7 - 1 day before the fateful flight - Captain Shah's wife could not take his ranting and raving about the unfair arrest and took her 3 kids with her to their second home.  She wanted to give Zaharie some "alone time" (as reported by their house keeper).

Later that day, the opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim was sentenced to 5 years in prison - and it is alleged that Captain Zaharie was present (7 hours before the flight) at his sentencing.

IMHO.....I believe that Captain Zahaire snapped and took the plane as a political statement or revenge - or whatever a fanatical madman does - for a very calculated final voyage.  I believe he is one of those guys who always said that he "wanted to die at the controls in the cockpit of a Boeing 777".  I further believe he had practiced this type of "exit from life" many times in the past on his home made simulator.

I further believe Captain Zahaire took that plane - pissed off at everyone - with 238 other passengers and flew it till it ran out of fuel.  He definitely did not take the "northern corridor", but rather headed south - towards Australia - where his 27 year old daughter lives.  She probably was the only one who "understood him" (she supported his simulator hobby), and he wanted to kind of leave her a message by heading out towards her.

I'm sure at about 8:15 in the morning when the plane ran out of fuel that the sun was shining, the weather was beautiful, and the ocean was calm.  It was a beautiful way to end his life.

Too bad that the F$%n selfish, inconsiderate, self-centered prick had to take 238 innocent passengers with him............
