This is the OLDEST trick in the book. Lets highlight those select FEW, far below one percent of our population, who take advantage of the system, and use those people as a reason to to justify slashing the safety net for ALL AMERICANS so the REAL workers dont have to pay for them. Uts one of the more obvious propoganda efforts by the right wing and uberwealthy.
The FACT of the matter is unemployment, andnother benefits taxpayers "pay for" actually BENEFIT the real economy because that money is used right away, allowing it to work through the economy and generate even more revenue and taxes that go into the program. Yes its complete crap that some people game the system, but I think of those couple million Americans simply as worker bees. They wont ever amount to anything and will eek out a below average existence and be nothings, but at least they are helping to prop up the economy, and some of their children WILL end up contributing positively to oyr society besides just being consumers.
There LITERALLY, AGAIN, arent enough jobs to go around, so these people would just add to that number.
We cannot let bad apples spoil the bunch, and this is EXACTLY the mistake conservatives are making.
And I wonder if any if these people fall inmlinenwith the poor BigTuna Went and helped out? The Bible says nothing about discriminating against the needy, even if it was self inflicted. Some people just NEED HELP. They are products of their environment, and shutting them out just creates more of the same people who think the same way they do.
There will come a point in time where we need to look at our jobs/compensation structure anyhow. With automation and computers takingnthe jobs of many people, it will become a crisis before too long, if it already isnt partially responsible for the favpct there are 3.5people for eery onenjob opening.
