My post if you haven't seen it on IHUB!
Must Read Update:
1. Ultraflix to directly compete with Netflix . Already ahead of the game by remastering films in 4K that are only available on Netflix HD quality! They have acquired rights to Independent films that are available on Netflix in hd, but only Ultraflix will make it available in 4K! David made it very clear they are going after content! That's the money maker! Ultraflix will be available on the NP-1, Roku 4, and any other competitor that wants to make money!!!
2. NTEK in talks with Warner Bros, Sony, and Lions Gate!!! David explained that they it took them a solid 4 months to pass Security with Sony, but now they have passed! Because 4K quality is equivalent to Movie theatre quality all the studios want to take extreme precaution to prevent 4K piracy! Which explains the length Security check. David couldn't release many of the details regarding the many discussion with a variety of the studios, but he could say it was mostly to do with content!
3. David Foley showed me side by side footage of Sony 4k remastering of "Ghost Busters" and NTEK 4K remastering of the same film! NTEK 's wins hands down! It's because NTEK adds an additional step to really remove all the graininess for the original film. The NP-1 is streaming flawlessly at 10 and 6mbs! With the naked eye you can't tell the difference between when the NP-1 streams using 10mbs or just 6mbs!(Side note: The MUSE concert in 4K was bad ass!)
4. As mentioned earlier: 20,000 NP-1's being shipped to Ingram Micro!!! This doesn't include all the back orders that keeps growing!!!
5. We will be seeing the long awaited mobil APP this quarter! The last couple months to the present NTEK has been testing it on a college campus with over 200 students involved! Great marketing, and you can't really find a better way of testing an APP than that! It's like a huge Focus Group! David couldn't give too many more details that!
6. The gaming division is working hard on games and ideas for the NP-1. Most of the games on NP-1 now are powered by Nvidia Tegra.
7. There are many negotiations in the works which David could obviously not give me all the details for.
8. I just want to end by saying the NP-1 is amazing, the content is amazing, and of course David and NTEK are the future. If you don't believe in the company now…You never will!
2014 will be insane for this company, and I have no doubt that they will surpass our expectations once again!
