As mentioned before Japan is very resource poor- a reason they preemptively attacked the USA-to have raw materials their society needed-
takes years of cleanup and planning but govt is under increasing political pressure to replace the destroyed cities w new cities -
but have to level whole mountains to raise the narrow coastal strip above level of tsunamis -and plan and rebuild -these things take many years -and Japan-already an iron importer-will have to import even more iron to rebuild
there is still the joker card of Chinas declining domestic ore % in their mines-down to 15% and falling-as far as I can see being ignored by iron projections-w some thinking price will rise as seen in posted articles,though the majority think they will fall some -but biggest cheapest iron has presumably already been found for the most part
