I have been reviewing what happened to Polymedix.
In my initial quick read I missed some things. I know that others here had talked about aspects of this. It was helpful for me to review this any way.
Polymedix had two lead compounds in trial, one anticoagulant candidate and Brilacidin. The other compound's clinical trial had to be stopped because of strong side effects in the form of hypotension. This was followed by a steep drop in the stock price and announcement of various class action suits alleging that the officers continued to paint a pretty picture when they knew about the seriousness of the adverse events.
It makes sense that all of that, the lack of funds, the reverse split and the attempt to raise a lot of cash with additional stock offering and then the creditor demanding payment on the loan (or otherwise taking over all assets) did the company in. In a very negative environment like that no one knows what is going to happen going forward and will not risk investing.
This probably explains why the potential of Brilacidin was missed by ordinary investors. I don't know why Big Pharma did not become interested. May be a new mechanism of action and the adverse events connected with other compounds of the same class bore watching. Or, if there was dishonesty in the reporting of one compound, one does not know how much to trust the results of the other. In any case, I am beginning to think like others on the board that the potential of Brilacidin could be significantly underappreciated.
I bought CTIX shares well before the Polymedix asset purchase, for the sake of Kevetrin, finding insurance in Prurisol. The holding off of the Prurisol trial was a big disappointment, but I will settle for what is in the works for Brilacidin, while watching how high the K dosing can go, and seeing Prurisol trials begin whenever that happens.
I would like to "pump" and say I will buy more on the dips, aber Ich habe kein mehr Geld.
Best wishes to all.
