Viscount Systems to Secure High-Rise Buildings in Canada

Viscount Systems Inc. (OTCQB:VSYS) a leading edge high technology supplier of security systems and software, announced today that the company has received commitments to secure up to 125 residential high-rise buildings in Canada. The initial commitment is for MESH Touch Screen intercom systems with an option to add Freedom access control. The initial commitment for MESH systems is valued at approximately $500,000 and will be deployed over the coming year. The first systems have recently been shipped.
“This is the largest MESH project our company has received,” noted Stephen Pineau, President of Viscount. “We continue to see improvement in all areas of our company. Our ability through MESH and Freedom to provide a unified access control and intercom solution continues to provide Viscount with a strategic advantage over other access control providers. Many integrators who had been purchasing separate access control systems for their MESH systems are now beginning to switch to Freedom so our intercom business is beginning to drive additional Freedom access control revenue.”

Freedom Encryption Bridge is the first and only access control system that allows entry devices (ID cards, RFID readers, biometrics etc.) to be connected to, and controlled by, standard building IT networks without requiring expensive control panels. This eliminates up to 80% of the cost of traditional access control systems. Freedom also utilizes existing IT permission databases (Microsoft Active Directory or LDAP) to replace the software component of traditional systems. Freedom drastically reduces system costs while providing a much more secure software solution.
