I used to work at one of these similar facilities (Genentec, Oside, CA). Two operators per shift, 12 hour shifts, to do everything on the utility side of the house. It was an amazing experience. We literally had millions of dollars worth of drugs that we had to make sure were handled in a very limited parameter band (Temperature/Time) when we had units alarming. Sometimes I would have to respond to an alarm on the other end of campus, then return to the control room, and then return to the alarming unit (having to climb 6 flights of stairs each time). I'm too old for that now though. Hopefully, these new facilities have more than one control room where the utility operators can look at their parameters locally. I really enjoyed learning how these drugs were made. Amazing technology. Never saw so much stainless steel anywhere else, although, a naval submarine reactor room came a close second.
