Appreciate you mentioning your grandfathers exploits in WWII ....
I had to research it for 1/2 hour this morning. The second invasion of France is relatively unknown to most people except those who participated or historians. Churchill was totally against it but proved to be quite significant achievement. Couple ports were captured nearly intact, and 1/3 of the supplies necessary came from those ports (did not know until this morning).... also the second invasion was supposed to take place simultaneously with the D-DAY invasion it was delayed after the main invasion force was increased from 3 divisions to 5. Your Grandfather was a hero, along with the over 16 million American men and women who fought tyranny.....sadly less than 100,000 are still alive, soon the "greatest generation will be only memories. I know this is CYDY board and I am off topic but go CYDY and I hope/pray to be bought out and/or some significant partnerships.
