The CC really didn't leave that many questions. I was wrong. It is not about the technology. They seem to have figured out the technology. Now it is about operations.
Bogolin has been addressing this by applying Lean Six Sigma practices to the plant. That's what he was hired to do. Now they will have the right people on staff to figure out how to take all the various inputs and customer requirements and optimize the use of the technology.
What I was right about - and what I harped on for over two years - was that figuring out the business logistics would take time. And that feedstock is an issue, despite being told over and over again that it was not. It is the biggest issue. It costs money to procure the right pre-processed types and is not uniform causing logistical issues.
So it will remain to be seen how much the feedstock adds to the COGS. Both plastic and HTF.
This is the major unknown at this point in time from what I am reading. Although I'm pretty sure management has a pretty good idea now.
$.11 / gallon is the same as $4.62 / barrel. That leaves quite a bit of room to keep the costs under $10 / barrel.
We're not out of the woods, but I think I might be seeing some light through the trees.
