That was exactly my point. He did not understand CCR5 and the cytokine flow. Additionally, he sought to deflect with remarks that reinforced his ignorance (hence, the stupid comment). He could have easily stopped any further discussion with any excuse to bow out (I don't care to discuss this, I'm busy and must go), instead, he sought to deflect with BS (It is an HIV treatment only, The CCR5 theories have not been proven any other indications, etc). Our discussion was about CCR5 expression, and not about treating with a non approved treatment. I started the conversation by asking if he studied it, because I was genuinely interested in his viewpoint. He chose the direction of the conversation.
