It has nothing to do with the popular vote it has to do with the electro college votes the more sets the more electro college votes as of now Texes has
40 electro college votes that up two votes Sinse 2020 . ny has 28 electro down 1 they would have been up except they had a lot move out of the state mostly the city as the illegals that are there now made it so they only lost one and not more.
