There is a great flying visual in my head that fits the situation. On the tarmac you get your IFR clearance, it is 1/8th mile visibility with a 50 foot ceiling but with tops at 600 feet. It is really socked in. But, you got your departure clearance, you take off and punch through the cloud layer and it sunny and you can see forever on top. It’s amazing to go from no visual reference to clear and visibility unlimited.
We’ve been grounded by the FDA but soon enough we will be cleared for departure and start gaining altitude. If Cytodyn can bring it home I might be able to afford a plane, get above the clouds and leave the worries behind.
