Just my speculation so take it with a grain of salt but a long-acting NASH drug would be a game changer, especially for an injectable.
The large majority of NAFLD patients and a big percentage of NASH patients are asymptomatic and may not want to take weekly injections. Only needing an injection a few times a year could make leronlimab more attractive to a potential partner.
A longer acting drug would need a new trial but obviously a partner would be a big help there.
Just speculation. I may be way off though and somebody else here could have a more plausible scenario.
